Remove YOUR Filter!

“God uses weak vessels.” Really? Yes – really! I know that because He uses me. You know that because He uses you. We are God’s deliberate “choice.”

1 Corinthians 1:27 says, “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong.”

Who do you consider “weak”? Remember that the weak are God’s own choice!

Children are considered “weak.” The elderly are considered “weak.” Teenagers are often considered “foolish.” So let’s make them our choice for they are God’s choice. It is not our strength that counts: it is His! How much greater will His power be shown through those who are considered powerless.

Sure they need equipping, training (the experiential type is best for children and the elderly), encouraging, and so forth. However, they are so often passed by because of our own filters and perception. It is our problem, not theirs, and especially not God’s.

May I encourage you today to make a list of those you consider “weak” and “foolish”? Name some children, teens, and elderly. Then ask God to give you His vision for them. Having done this, ask God to give you His strategies and wisdom to minister to these people. It may well start with building relationships, like taking a child, teenager, or elderly person out for the day and go from there. It is called FUN, and you will be surprised as you see what God sees.
