I have been impressed with the Magpies so far since they began their league campaign and I’m sure 9th position in the Premier League will please most of the St James’ Park faithful. One thing that hasn’t been in short supply this year for the visitors is goals, they have only failed to score in 3 games this season, 2 of which were in their first 4 matches.
Tottenham themselves have been involved in some emphatic and entertaining scorelines this season, in Bale they have the new great Welsh hope and he has shown his talent in front of goal this season while Rafael Van der Vaart has proved a revelation for the hosts and already has 8 goals to his name in the league. Spurs have scored and conceded in all of their last 7 home games so there is hope for Newcastle that they have a chance to get on the scoresheet at White Hart Lane this afternoon.
With the likelihood of a few goals today I think the 1.8 on offer at Stan James for Both Teams to Score is a tad generous. Andy Carroll’s form has caught the eye of many a supporter this season and he can add Fabio Capello to his list of admirers as his latest England Call up demonstrated.
